2008 CalPERS Retirement Fairs

We are very pleased to announce that once again CalPERS will be hosting retirement planning fairs around the state for your employees and retirees. This year we are hosting 23 retirement fairs at 20 cities over the next 6 months so that your employees have more opportunities to participate. We have also added more Saturday events this year.

The 2008 CalPERS Retirement Planning Fairs began April 29 in Oakland and end with our November 1 event in Norwalk.

CalPERS members (your employees) who attend the fairs will receive information on CalPERS benefits, programs and services to help them plan for a financially secure retirement. Retirees receive information about how to better manage their retirement assets. Each fair will feature more than a dozen information booths with representatives from:

• CalPERS Regional Offices
• CalPERS Retirement Benefit Estimates
• CalPERS Service Credit
• CalPERS Health Benefits Program
• CalPERS Long-Term CAre Program
• CalPERS Member Home Loan program
• CalPERS 457 Deferred Compensation Plan and Supplemental Income Plans
• ScholarShare
• Social Security Administration
• State Savings Plus Program
• State Teachers Retirement System
• Various public employee and public retiree organizations

In Addition, each fair will feature regularly scheduled workshops on topics such as:

• CalPERS benefit basics
• Retirement service credit
• Social Security
• CalPERS supplemental income plans
• CalPERS online services
• CalPERS member home loans
• CalPERS health benefits
• State Savings Plus Program

Workshop seating is limited, but fair attendees can pre-register on a first-come-first-served basis.
